In addition to bread and tomatoes, a panzanella can also have cucumbers, basil and cubes of fresh cheese. It\u2019s a satisfying salad that works great as a stand-alone dinner dish or a light lunch.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" toasted in the oven, since fresh bread would quickly adsorb all the juices and turn to mush.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-8 magazine__text\">\n    <p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><br \/>\n400 g of stale white bread<br \/>\n1 kg of mixed heirloom tomatoes<br \/>\n1 cucumber<br \/>\n200 g cubes of fresh cheese in oil<br \/>\n1 small red onion<br \/>\n1 bunch of basil<br \/>\n1 dl olive oil<br \/>\n2 tbsp red wine vinegar<br \/>\n2 cloves garlic<br \/>\n2 tsp salt<br \/>\n1 pinch of pepper<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"col-12 col-md-8 magazine__text\">\n    \n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"\" class=\"magazine__title col-12 col-md-8\">Prepare the tomatoes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"col-12 col-md-8 magazine__text\">\n    <p>1.\tRoughly cut tomatoes into pieces of approximately the same size.<br \/>\n2.\tPlace a colander over a bowl and add the tomatoes.<br \/>\n3.\tSprinkle with two teaspoons of salt and give everything a toss.<br \/>\n4.\tLeave the tomatoes in the colander for 20 minutes, tossing them occasionally.<br \/>\n5.\tThe tomato juices drizzle with olive oil and toss well.<br \/>\n3.\tToast the bread cubes for 10 minutes in an oven preheated to 200 \u00b0C, tossing once in between.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"\" class=\"magazine__title col-12 col-md-8\">Make the dressing<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"col-12 col-md-8 magazine__text\">\n    <p>1.\tPeel the garlic and chop finely.<br \/>\n2.\tAdd vinegar and chopped garlic to the tomato juices that have collected in the bowl under the colander.<br \/>\n3.\tSlowly pour olive oil into the mixture, stirring constantly.<br \/>\n4.\tAdd a pinch of pepper to the dressing.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 id=\"\" class=\"magazine__title col-12 col-md-8\">Make the salad<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" very thin slices, which is best done with a mandolin.<br \/>\n3.\tStrip the basil leaves and chop roughly.<br \/>\n4.\tToss the toasted bread cubes into a salad bowl and pour over the dressing.<br \/>\n5.\tAdd tomatoes, cheese cubes, sliced cucumber, sliced red onion and basil.<br \/>\n6.\tMix everything well and let cool for 30 minutes so that the bread soaks in the
